KFC and a Sunset

Finally a decent sunset image at the Breakers.

As the days gets shorter a new problem begins to arise with one looking to shoot sunsets. That problem is dinner. At this time of the year the sun is setting a little after 7 PM. I like to get to my shooting location about 30 minutes prior to that get some of the pre-sunset images and prepare for what is about to happen when the sun finally goes down. Add to that a 15 minute drive to get to the destination which means you really have to be thinking about leaving the house by 6:30 or so which happens to be when we usually eat dinner.

The obligatory waves on the break wall image. Note the Coast Guard cutter just left of the light.

Well, this little challenge is easily solved by your friendly neighborhood KFC. With a quick stop to the drive up window you can have a couple of 2 piece dinners ready to fill your tummy while you watch the sun go down. Of course the photographer has to wait for the sun to actually set before he can eat, but you feel a lot better knowing that your significant other can enjoy a good meal while your out there trying to make pretty pictures.

The sun has finally set. Now I can eat.

So the next time you feel the need to experience nature around dinner time remember that the Colonel will be more than happy to help. :)
